SOLO EXHIBITION ON ARTSY "The Shape of Resilience: Becoming Whole.
The Shape of Resilience: Becoming Whole - Solo Exhibition on ArtsyI am pleased to share the news of my new solo exhibition, The Shape of Resilience: Becoming Whole, currently presented by Artseeker Gallery on Artsy from 11 August to 30 September 2026.This exhibition brings together a selection of works from my ongoing series The Shape of Resilience, a body of work through which I explore transformation, identity, emotional experience and the ways in which we rebuild ourselves after periods of rupture. The central idea behind the series is simple, but deeply personal: resilience is not always about returning to who we were before. Sometimes it means accepting that we have changed and learning to construct a new sense of wholeness from what remains. My process is an essential part of this exploration. I begin by creating expressive figurative paintings using saturated colours and strong contrasts. Once the painting is complete, I physically tear the painted surface apart and reconstruct it, deliberately leaving the fractures, gaps and irregular edges visible. In some works, I introduce brightly coloured cotton threads that cross, bind or surround the fragmented figures. These threads represent invisible connections - memory, relationships, emotional attachment, hope, inner conflict and the forces that continue to shape us. They can support us, hold us back, protect us or become something we need to escape.Through this physical process, the meaning of the work becomes part of its material structure. The act of tearing is not simply destruction. Reconstruction is not an attempt to restore the original image. Instead, the fragments become the foundation for something new.The exhibition asks:What does it mean to become whole after you have been changed? The figures in these paintings inhabit different stages of this process. Some struggle against invisible restraints. Some reach towards connection. Others appear to surrender, rebuild or simply pause between one state of being and another.I am interested in the moment when a fracture stops being something we try to hide and becomes part of our identity. The Shape of Resilience: Becoming Whole represents an important stage in the development of my artistic language. It combines contemporary figurative painting with physical fragmentation, collage and textile elements, creating works that exist between painting and constructed object.Born and raised in Belarus and now based in Hurghada, Egypt, I am a self-taught contemporary artist with more than a decade of artistic practice. My previous professional background in medicine continues to influence my fascination with the human body, psychological states and the connection between physical and emotional experience. This exhibition is an opportunity to present this evolving body of work to an international audience and to continue developing a visual language around resilience, transformation and reconstruction.I am grateful to Artseeker Gallery for presenting the exhibition on Artsy and to everyone who takes the time to enter this visual world and engage with the stories behind these works. The Shape of Resilience: Becoming Whole is available to view on Artsy from 11 August to 30 September 2026.
